Dalet today announced that the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) is using Dalet Flex, the cloud-native media logistics platform, to prepare and deliver league match highlights to fans via digital channels. The LFP is the French governing body responsible for overseeing, organizing and managing the two top football leagues in France, Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT; and the 44 professional football clubs vying for the titles. Part of its charter is to manage over 100 weekly club match videos. The LFP selected Dalet Flex to speed up the tedious process, automating the ingest, preparation and publication of match highlight videos on YouTube and Dailymotion. Dalet Flex’s comprehensive production tools allow LFP to take advantage of new content monetization opportunities, such as offering free match videos from the LFP website.
LFP IT Director, Olivier Imbert, explains the value provided by Dalet Flex: “Given the workload of our team and the large amount of video we process, we needed a solution that would transform our approach to content management. Dalet Flex automates the ingest and publishing process so our team can refocus their time on assessing fan consumption habits and developing new content revenue opportunities. In a few months, Dalet Flex has become a tool that the entire LFP team has adopted. »
Fast digital media workflow
In addition to managing a large volume of video content, LFP must adhere to a tight publication schedule. Matches take place from Friday evening to Sunday evening with live or near-live content broadcast by broadcast rights holders over the weekend. On Monday, content rights revert to the LFP who, in turn, use Dalet Flex to quickly post match highlights. Dalet Flex simplifies content delivery by ensuring that playlist information and metadata, including mapping from XML to asset metadata, is accurate and consistent. This streamlines the process of preparing and distributing content to LFP digital properties, ensuring fans can view match highlights on any device.
“Sports teams, leagues and federations are taking control of their content and becoming sports media, and the Professional Football League was ready to do that,” says Massoud Razzani, Commercial Account Manager, Dalet. “They faced gaps in workflow management, process automation, and integration between tools, which made it extremely difficult, resource-intensive, and costly to deliver the massive amounts of content that fans savored. Dalet Flex provides the LFP integration and automation capabilities needed to succeed at a competitive price. The user-friendly environment enabled LFP staff, many of whom have no technical background, to adapt quickly to new tools and workflows.”
Dalet hosts and manages LFP’s cloud environment, reducing upfront investments and overall maintenance costs.
The LFP’s content management strategy is part of a growing trend of sports teams, leagues and federations partnering with experienced technology companies like Dalet to take full control of their media and digital strategy, delivering exceptional experiences to fans. Dalet’s agile media workflow technology, deep media management expertise, and flexible SaaS and subscription business models enable sports organizations to radically change their operations to fully focus on their content strategy and easily integrate new content. future business opportunities.
