EXCLUSIVE: Noble Story Co. obtained the rights to New York Times bestselling author Andy Andrews’ The heart repairer, with plans to develop it for theaters.
The historical fictional novel tells the story of Helen Mason, a young woman unable to let go of her resentment towards the Nazi war machine that claimed her husband’s life. In the summer of 1942, she met German submarine officer Lt. Josef Landermann, who ran aground after being abandoned and left for dead by the Kriegsmarine, and that moment ended up changing her life forever.
The project was presented to Andrew Teravskis and Adam Gregory’s Noble Story Co. by Edgar Struble, and will produce it alongside the duo. Noble Story Co. is a fan-owned production company with five other feature films and two series in the works, represented by Arine Harapeti. Andrews is replaced by Neely & Callaghan.
EXCLUSIVE: Gravitas companies today unveiled a trailer for actor Adrian Martinez’s feature debut iGilbert, in which he stars alongside Dascha Polanco and Raùl Castillo, also announcing that he has acquired the worldwide rights to Vinnie Tortorich’s latest documentary, Beyond the impossible. The first title will be released in theaters and VOD on December 31, while the last will be released on VOD on January 11.
iGilbert focuses on Gilbert Gonzalez (Martinez), who lives with his mother in his Manhattan brownstone. Fearing life and people, but hungry for human connection, he secretly takes photos of women wherever and whenever he can. Between Jana (Polanco), a tenant of the building and the source of countless fantasies, whose insecurities prevent her from standing up to her ex-boyfriend Tony (Castillo), an Iraq war veteran with PTSD . Gilbert dreams of rescuing her, but doesn’t believe that she can ever love him, especially if she knew all the secret photos.
Martinez produced the film alongside Cynthia Hargrave (Rocket in bottle), also executive producer alongside Jose Rivera (Motorcycle logs).
Beyond the impossible comes on the heels of the docs of Tortorich Fat: a documentary and Fat: A Documentary 2, which Gravitas also released on VOD. It chronicles the “impossible” quest for the perfect meatless burger, also examining how the vegan diet might not be quite crisp.

EXCLUSIVE: Freestyle digital media acquired the US rights to the crime thriller Titus Heckel chained, as well as the world rights of the drama of Paula Rhodes Delicate condition. The digital movie distribution division of Allen Media Group / Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios will release the first title on the Internet, cable and satellite platforms on December 28, releasing the last for on-demand viewing on January 4.
chained tells the story of Taylor (Marlon Kazadi), a boy who finds criminal Jim (Aleks Paunovic) in chains in a deserted factory, beginning to abuse his captive in order to find out where the man has been hiding stolen money, in order to that he can escape his abusive family life.

Rhodes and Charlie Bodin shot Delicate condition in 2015, during the pregnancy of the first, doubling the lead role of the film and its two-person crew.
