New Transformers Animated Movie Release Date Set For 2024

It may be another sad day with announcements of more films being pushed back due to the pandemic, this time all from Paramount Pictures, but there was a silver lining to all of today’s depressing news. Although we’re going to have to wait longer for films like Impossible mission sequels or Quiet place spin-off, Paramount has announced that there is a new untitled animated film Transformers‘ film on the way with a release date of July 19, 2024. Unclear if this is the previous announcement Josh Cooley-directed prequel.

Today’s release date does not come with any information about the director, story details, voice talent, or creative team attached to the project. However, it will be the franchise’s first animated film since The Transformers: The Movie all the way back to 1986. Transformers have always been a hot property for Paramount with Michael BayThe original 2007 live-action film gave pop culture renewed interest in this ’80s franchise based on the transformation of disguised robots.

Say what you want about these movies quality-wise, the franchise has grossed nearly $5 billion as a whole. Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon and Transformers: Age of Extinction each making over a billion respectively. The latest film in the 2018’s franchise Bumblebee was not as financially successful as its previous entries in the series, but it was the franchise’s first critical success. The next live action movie in the series Transformers: Rise of the Beasts directed by Credo 2it is Steven Caple Jr. looks to continue on that upward path for the franchise next year.

It will be interesting to see what type of links, if any, this next animated film will have to The Rising of the Beasts, Bumblebee, or the Bay series. One of the best moments of Bumblebee so the sky is the limit of the kind of story this animated tale can tell. As long as they can get Peter Cullen back as Optimus Prime, they got off to a good start and if Bumblebee anything taught us is that this franchise can tell an effectively heartfelt story that focuses on both human characters and their robot counterparts.

Will this film get the twist, or will it be another entry that fans of this long-running franchise will want to forget about? Only time will tell, but we hope to find out on July 19, 2024, pending further delays given the current dire state of the world.
