‘High Noon,’ the stage adaptation of the 1952 film, will play on Broadway in 2023

A world premiere of “High Noon,” based on the Oscar-winning film, will hit Broadway in 2023.

The stage adaptation, which bears the same name as Stanley Kramer’s 1952 western, is written by Eric Roth.

Michael Arden, who directed the 2017 cover of “Once on This Island” and the 2015 cover of “Spring Awakening”, will direct.

Further announcements regarding the cast and additional members of the creative team will be made at a later date.

The film, which starred Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, won seven Oscars and recently celebrated its 70th anniversary. In 1989, the Library of Congress elected to retain “High Noon” in the National Film Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

“High Noon” is produced on Broadway by Paula Wagner and Hunter Arnold. Karen S. Kramer and Steve Jaffe will serve as consulting producers.
